In a significant development for certain government officers, the Caretaker Prime Minister has given the green light to a substantial increase in their salaries and perks. The Management Position officers (MP I, MP II, and MP III) are set to benefit from a 45% raise in their pay and allowances, effective from October 1, 2023. This move has been made to improve the financial well-being of these officers and enhance their job satisfaction. Revision of Management Position Salary Package:

For MP I officers, the government has taken significant steps to improve their financial conditions. The maximum ceiling of basic salary, house rent, and other allowances has been raised from Rs. 699,350 to Rs. 1,013,920. Additionally, the minimum basic salary, house rent, and other allowances for MP I have increased to Rs. 804,180 from Rs. 554,600 per month.

Salary Details for MP I:

  • Maximum salary of MP I: Rs. 1,013,920
  • Minimum salary of MP I: Rs. 804,180
  • Minimum house rent: Rs. 101,000
  • Maximum house rent: Rs. 205,900
  • Minimum utility allowance: Rs. 28,500
  • Maximum utility allowance: Rs. 35,240
  • Improvements for MP II and MP III:

The government has not just focused on MP I officers but also extended benefits to MP II and MP III. For MP II, the maximum basic salary, house rent, and other allowances have increased to Rs. 599,704 from Rs. 413,600 per month. MP III officers will now have a maximum basic pay of Rs. 263,190 and a minimum of Rs. 184,230 per month.


Additional Benefits:

Apart from the salary increments, Management Position officers will continue to receive additional benefits, including TA/DA on official tours (domestic and abroad), medical facilities, and gratuity.


Funding and Contract Extension:

The financing for these revised packages will be met from the allocated budgets of relevant divisions and ministries for the current fiscal year. Furthermore, the revised package will automatically apply to existing incumbents holding MP scales. However, any extension of their contracts will be considered only if their performance meets the satisfaction of the performance evaluation committee and gains approval from the competent authority as per the established rules.


Monetization of Transport Facilities:

The monetization of transport facilities for MP I, MP II, and MP III officers remains unchanged, with rates set at MP-I: Rs. 95,910, MP-II: Rs. 77,430, and MP-III: Rs. 65,060.
